seocontest2008

There is only 6 or so weeks left of this short contest. I have been considering starting again. Its because of my domain. It has a hyphen in it. I’m annoyed at myself for buying this.

Google treats a hyphen ( - ) as a space. If its a space I would rank high for seocontest 2008. But not seocontest2008. Thats why the sites in the lead at the moment don’t have a hyphen in them.

I reckon I’ve invested too much time and money into this blog. I’ll stick with it.

Yesterday I was ranking inside the top 60 of google for the seocontest2008 keyword. Now I rank outside the top 150 as google is not showing my homepage when a search is made for seocontest2008. I’ll have to get the blog homepage back up there.

I’m still an SEO newbie and have never done it on a professional basis. This is why I suck at this. I’ll gain experience though, don’t worry. Now off to find some more juicy backlinks
