In my determination to get my seocontest2008 site to rank high in google for seocontest2008 amongst all the other seocontest2008 entrants i have blogged a lot about seocontest2008 and general seo stuff today. I’m actually quite bored and writing random stuff thats not related to seo or seocontest2008. Like the post on tahoma for example. Its silly.

I am using tahoma a lot in my seocontest2008. The blog posts, titles and links inside the seocontest2008 site all use tahoma font.

I really like it and often use it when creating sites similar to seocontest2008. Actually the wordpress theme that i use for my seocontest2008 entry i choose as i liked the fonts. if your seocontest2008 looks crap it doesnt really matter, but visual appeal is something that i want. At least if i loose seocontest2008 or dont rank high in google for seocontest2008 i can say that i have a unique site, full of unique content and a nice theme. seocontest2008 is very popular so i may also get a good pagerank. i also mentioned that i have a lot of seocontest2008 related backlinks that use seocontest2008 in the anchor. i dont want to link with seocontest2008 too much as i may get sandboxed when searching for seocontest2008. Thats bad. Very bad.

Yes my other site, zorg-directory.com has a sitewide link to my seocontest2008 with the anchot text seocontest2008. If i am to win seocontest2008 i need to do as much as possible for free to rank for seocontest2008.

As a start i gave a sitewide link from a strong site of mine to seocontest2008.com. Sorry i keep forgetting my site is not seocontest2008.com its actually seocontest2008.com with a - in between seocontest and 2008. My seocontest2008 rankigns may improve in google fo the keyword seocontest2008 if i actually used a domain without a space in it. Liek seocontest2008 dot tv or seocontest2008 dot info or whatever. I was too late to react in seocontest2008 to the news that seocontest2008 was the target keyword. I guess i’ll learn for future contests. seocontest2008 is starting to look good.

I have a good entry into seocontest2008 but my seocontest2008 rankings are crap as my homepage is not ranking when you search for seocontest2008, my blog post from last week is ranking instead. seocontest2008 is not even used in the title, nor do i mention the word seocontest2008 a lot in the post itself.

It seems many people are updating their sites for seocontest2008 each day. As the rankigns in google for seocontest2008 are contantly changing, people want to update their sites content as much as possible.

seocontest2008 is a very popular search term. seocontest2008 is actually sending me a lot of traffic, although i rank on page 40 for seocontest2008.

What strategies would you use if you entered seocontest2008? I am using many, although I am pretty crap at short term seocontest2008. If seocontest2008 was 1 year long, I would do very well. As the seocontest2008 is only 2 months long I am not likely to win. seocontest2008 requires SEO’s to rank high for seocontest2008 in only 2 months, which is not easy as it requires good experience. As i dont have a lto experience i prefer long term seo, which would allow me to rank for seocontest2008 in around 4-5 months.

Ah well, i’ll just do my best to rank highly ASAP. seocontest2008 is hotting up. seocontest2008 should really get competitve in march, with many people being sandboxed and many people improving their chances of winning seocontest2008 by ranking higher for it.

The suprising thing is that the seocontest2008 leaders are using seocontest2008 in their domain, which is of course a new domain seocontest2008.uk.com.

I was suprised as the organisers of seocontest2008 allowed you to use an existing domain. I thought many would just use a sub domain or sub directory and name it seocontest2008.

So now im just blogging for the sake of it. I try not to write a lot and just get straight to the point - my seocontest2008  rankings. My seocontest2008 now has over 4000 backlinks in yahoo last time I checked.

I wonder how many sites will get a high google PR next update. seocontest2008 is a popular term and of course the seocontest2008 is a much entered contest. Many people want to win seocontest2008 so many will buy links to boost rankings. I bought a few for my seocontest2008 entry.

There is only 6 or so weeks left of this short contest. I have been considering starting again. Its because of my domain. It has a hyphen in it. I’m annoyed at myself for buying this.

Google treats a hyphen ( - ) as a space. If its a space I would rank high for seocontest 2008. But not seocontest2008. Thats why the sites in the lead at the moment don’t have a hyphen in them.

I reckon I’ve invested too much time and money into this blog. I’ll stick with it.

Yesterday I was ranking inside the top 60 of google for the seocontest2008 keyword. Now I rank outside the top 150 as google is not showing my homepage when a search is made for seocontest2008. I’ll have to get the blog homepage back up there.

I’m still an SEO newbie and have never done it on a professional basis. This is why I suck at this. I’ll gain experience though, don’t worry. Now off to find some more juicy backlinks

What are your thoughts on the prize money?

If I rank 1st at the beginning of April for seocontest2008 I will win $1000 USD. Thats a nice bit of money and could buy many things. A new PC, a games console a tiny car or even a holiday. I could get myself a new website or even fund a contest of my own. 2008 could be quite nice if I had $1000 to invest in some SEO for my sites.

However is it enough? Even though only slightly larger, the 2007 seo contest for globalwarming awareness had an expensive car as the prize for 1st place. Having said that it was a larger contest the the seocontest2008 as it required you to rank 1 in all major search engines (yahoo, msn, google) unline the seocontest2008 which needs you to rank 1 in only google.

$2500 would be ideal prize for first place. I expect many more people would enter if the prize was larger. Its how many SEO newbies start out, including myself. Contests like this are great for SEO practice amongst fierce competition.

I would invest some money in off site SEO if the prize was larger. Many people could spend $1000 buying links, which would leave them at no profit when the competition ends. After all, this is the Internet and many people only care in making money.

However if the seocontest2008 prize was $2500, spending $500 on links or even $1000 would leave you in proft.

I noticed a few days ago we were indexed. All it took was a few forum signitures.

I keep thinking I’ll blog about my seo tacticts but not sure if I will. I may end up near the top at the end. I’d hate for a competitor to come to the blog and steal my SEO secrets!

Anway the contest to rank high for seocontest2008 is hotting up. I noticed the term has really grown on google.

Also noticeable is the traffic explosion to Ukwebmasterworld. Seems that a lack of recent SEO competitions has lead many people to join this one, which is great news for temi and the guys at UKWW. The contest is doing just the job they wanted. Bringing in hundreds of backlinks from soon to be powerful related sites and also the great exposure that comes with a contest - branding and traffic.

Hopefully they’ll see some results after the contest and hope that many people stay and post in the webmaster/seo forums. Thats what the contest is for anyway!

After throwing togethor my entry into the 2008 seo contest and installing wordpress, I had to get it looking good.

I own and release many wordpress themes but decided by blue fuzz was both visually appealing and professional enough for the entry. Its easy 2 read and simple 2 column with right sidebar.

I installed some plugins and will activate akismet soon so we dont have any nasty spam.

I shall keep you informed. Next step is to start link building and get indexed, then we can start getting technical.
